Registered Charity 1201139

Our Trustees

The Trustees are professionals who volunteer their time and skills and take ultimate responsibility for the charity’s governance and strategy. They have oversight of the charity’s finances, legal compliance and risk management. They identify risks to the charity and safeguard its assets. They promote the charity’s work and ensure that it meets its charitable aims and operates in the public interest.

The board works particularly closely with the Director, providing invaluable support and knowledge which underpins the charitie's success.

Peter Jeffreys

Chair of Trustees

Peter Jeffreys is a solicitor with more than 30 years' experience specialising in Wills, charity law and the overlap between the two.  He is nationally recognised for his expertise in assisting charities with gifts in Wills which come under challenge or are difficult to implement.  Peter is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Charity Law Association.

Peter is a keen singer, who has sung with many church, cathedral and chamber choirs.  He studied singing with Margaret Thomas and Janet Edmunds in the 1990s.  Other interests include an enthusiasm for classic cars.

Peter lives by the Sussex coast with his husband and their two rescue cats.

Miriam Kimber

Deputy Chair of Trustees

Miriam is a lawyer, heading up the legal team in a public corporation, and a keen musician with many years’ choral singing experience including in the National Youth Choir. She is active in diversity, equity and inclusion work and is a member of the Steering Committee for “Inclusion in Finance”.

Julia Daniels

Julia uses her experience as instrumentalist, singer, conductor, teacher and coach to encourage those she works with to get to the heart of the music they encounter. As a passionate believer that music shapes and changes all those who learn and perform it, she particularly enjoys working with children.

For MoV, she works closely with the Director to build relationships between the charity and the music industry, and to strengthen those connections for the benefit of the charity.
